2020 Poster Contest Winners

Hannah T. Guthrie

For the first time in MVWD’s "Water is Life" poster contest history, students were allowed to submit their artwork electronically due to COVID-related school closures hindering the submission of hard copies. We received some outstanding artwork and judges had some tough decisions to make!

Students in Grades K-12 in schools within MVWD’s service area were invited to create an art poster depicting various water uses, ways to use water more efficiently, or water conservation topics. Almost 70 entries were received in the three grade level categories. Students submitted some really creative and imaginative artwork, making the judges decisions a bit difficult. Overall, eight winners were selected to move on to a regional artwork contest.

The District sent the eight winning posters to Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) for judging in their regional art calendar contest. MWD will select 36 award-winning posters to be featured in a 2021 "Water is Life" Student Art Calendar that will be distributed through local water agencies in southern California.

Join us in congratulating the winners of the 2020 "Water is Life" poster contest!
