Benefits
Monte Vista Water District employees are provided a cafeteria-style benefit plan. This allows employees to select a benefit package that fits their individual needs.
Medical
The District offers medical benefits through the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) with choices from Kaiser Permanente (HMO), Blue Shield (HMO), Health Net (HMO), United Healthcare (HMO) and Anthem Blue Cross (HMO) and Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans. Enrollment in the District's medical plans is optional; however, the District requires evidence of coverage from another plan. Eligible employees that waive the District's medical plan can receive a portion of their cafeteria allotment as a direct payment.
Annuitant Medical Benefit
As a retiree of the District you will be eligible for a contribution, depending on your hire date and years of service, to your retiree medical benefit when participating in the Public Employees' Medical & Hospital Care Act (PEMHCA).
