Monte Vista Water District's residential customers are eligible for the following enhanced rebates through the regional SoCal Water$mart Rebate Program (click each for additional information):
This rebate program is provided through the cooperative efforts of Monte Vista Water District, Inland Empire Utilities Agency and Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
$40 REBATE per toilet
(1.28 GPF or less)
The largest amount of water used inside your home--30%--goes toward flushing the toilet. But how much water your toilet actually needs to flush properly is less than you think!
Save Water -- High-efficiency toilets use 20% less water than standard toilets and flush the same amount of waste just as, if not more, effectively. In just one year, you can save over 8,000 gallons of water!
Save Money -- Water savings from high-efficiency toilets can save over $800 on your water bill over the lifetime of the product.
High-Efficiency Clothes Washers
$85 REBATE per washer
(one per household)
Thinking of buying a new clothes washing machine? Why not buy one that earns you a rebate! Model must have a Water Factor of 4.0 or less. Typical savings for a family of four: $200 per year!
Weather-Based Irrigation Controllers
$80 REBATE < 1 acre
$35 REBATE per station > 1 acre
Weather-based irrigation controllers (WBICs), or "smart" controllers, automatically adjust watering schedules so your landscape gets only the amount of water that it needs.
- Use sensors and weather information to manage watering times and frequency
- Turn off sprinkler systems automatically during rain, high wind or low temperatures
- Reduce outdoor water use by an average of 15-30 percent.
- Reduce overwatering, which can cause fungal disease and insect problems
Rotating Spray Head Nozzles
$2 REBATE per nozzle
Replace standard spray nozzles with rotating nozzles and save up to 6,600 gallons per nozzle over 5 years!
Rotating nozzles apply water more slowly and evenly than conventional spray nozzles, especially after adjustments to radius (distance) and/or arc (height). Independent water audits have documented water savings of 20 percent of more when conventional spray nozzles are replaced with rotating nozzles.
Rotating nozzles offer:
- Reduced runoff and overspray
- Easy adjustments
- Less misting
- High uniformity
- Resistance to wind
