Governor Declares Statewide Drought Emergency Over (Apr 10, 2017)

On Friday, Governor Brown declared an end to California's statewide drought emergency. Monte Vista Water District once again congratulates our customers on using water efficiently before, during, and after the drought and asks them to continue their successful conservation efforts.

The governor's declaration recognizes recent rains and unprecedented levels of conservation have resulted in the end of drought conditions for most of the state. His executive order removes mandatory conservation standards on water agencies, while maintaining prohibitions on wasteful water use practices such as irrigation runoff and hosing down pavements.

The declaration will have no impact on MVWD or our customers, who have been following water use efficiency best practices since 2010.
