2015 Urban Water Management Plan Adopted (Jun 29, 2016)

The Monte Vista Water District Board of Directors adopted its 2015 Urban Water Management Plan after a public hearing held during its regularly scheduled board meeting on June 22, 2016. The plan demonstrates that the district has surplus supplies available to meet projected demands, even during multi-year droughts, for at least the next 25 years.

The plan, prepared by district staff, provides an overview of the district's projected water demands and available supplies, and then conducts a "stress test" to ensure that the district has sufficient supplies to meet demands even during a multi-year drought. In such a drought, the district estimates it still would have a surplus supply of over 30 percent to meet the projected demands of its wholesale and retail customers.
