On January 27, 2010, after holding a public hearing, the Monte Vista Water District Board of Directors adopted Resolution 641-10 establishing a new budget-based tiered water rate structure and a three-year schedule of water rates. The new water rates will go into effect on April 1, 2010.
For information relating to the new water rates, contact the District's Customer Service Department at (909) 624-0035.
Why did Monte Vista Water District raise rates?
- Increased cost of imported water (~50% of District water supply)
- Capital replacement needs (pipelines, reservoirs, wells, facilities)
- Maintaining adequate reserves
- New state conservation legislation requiring 20% reduction in use by 2020
