The numbered explanations below correspond with the numbers shown on the sample bill.

1. Name and billing address: Please call us immediately if there are any changes to your name or billing address.
   
2. Detachable Portion: Include this with your payment.
3. Payment Deadline and Amount Due: Bills must be paid in full no later that the due date.
   
4. Account Number: Refer to this number when you inquire about your account. Write it on your check if paying by mail.
   
5. RTS Charge (Ready-To-Serve Charge): This charge reflects the fixed costs shared among all customers, including infrastructure and equipment repairs and maintenance, meter reading, billing, engineering, safety and administration.
   
6. Water Usage: The cost of water use during a two month billing cycle. Includes wholesale cost plus local treatment, storage, distribution and facility replacement. One hundred cubic feet (HCF) of water equals 748 gallons.

8. Conservation Information: MVWD compares your current water usage with usage in the previous year.
   

Your bi-monthly bill reflects the amount of water already used. Meters are read every two months. Applicable fixed charges are also included and payment is required within 30 days. You can mail your payment to us in the envelope provided or come to the Monte Vista Water District Office, located at 10575 Central Avenue, Montclair, during regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A Payment Drop Box is located outside the front gate entrance of the District office and can be accessed 24 hours a day. Please remember to place your payment in an envelope clearly labeled with your name and account number (NO cash, please). All deposits after 8 a.m. or on weekends or holidays will be credited on the next regular business day.
