Monte Vista Water District is participating in the regional Water-Wise Residential Landscape Program, which offers a mini-grant of $2 per-square-foot up to a $2,000 maximum per residential site to convert grass to California friendly landscaping.
Program Criteria:

Applicant must be a single family residential customer. |
| 2. |
Minimum of 400 square feet of lawn must be removed (smaller areas eligible on a case-by-case basis). |
| 3. |
Areas to be converted must be lawn. Finished conversions may not contain any lawn. |
| 4. |
Converted areas may be planted with anything BUT turf. Visit www.bewaterwise.com for ideas about how to turn your lawn into a California friendly garden. |
| 5. |
Converted areas must remain permeable to air and water. If a weed barrier is used, it must be manufactured to be permeable to air and water. Concrete, plastic sheeting, or other impermeable treatments will not qualify. |
