Monte Vista Water District is a county water district formed under the County Water District Law, Division 12, Section 30000 et seq. of the California Water Code.

A five-member Board of Directors, who is elected to overlapping four-year terms, governs the District. The Board of Directors is responsible to set strategic direction and policy for the District. A General Manager is appointed by the Board of Directors and oversees the day-to-day management of the District.

The regularly scheduled meetings of the Board of Directors are held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the District's offices located at 10575 Central Avenue, Montclair.
