Welcome to the Monte Vista Water District Website!
In reviewing the information about the District, I hope
you will become more familiar with our history, services,
activities and innovative programs in water resources
management.
The Board of Directors, elected by the citizens who
reside in our service area, is the legislative body
responsible for setting strategic direction and policy
for the District. The Board empowers District administration
to carry out Board policies and priorities to ensure
that our customers receive outstanding service and an
excellent product.
The Board reviews and adopts budgets, ensuring that
the District's financial strength is maintained. We
also establish the fees that are related to the cost
to provide the services and are necessary to maintain
the water system, make appropriate improvements and
provide for service to customers. It is significant
to note that our rates for water services are among
the lowest in the region, even taking into consideration
the scheduled annual rate adjustments to cover the costs
of our capital improvement program and increased energy
charges. We attribute this to prudent financial management
and efficiency in providing our services.
The Board of Directors believes that we must not only
consider what is the appropriate thing to do in today's
environment, but to look ahead to the future and be
involved in planning activities that ensure that our
customers will continue to have an adequate, reliable
supply of high quality drinking water for many years
to come.
We look with pride on the accomplishments of our
past and are poised to meet the future with confidence
that our mission will continue to be fulfilled.
